Help Assemble the Temple Isaiah Sukkah

Join Brotherhood members, other congregants and our kids as we assemble the Temple Sukkah, Wednesday evening, Setpember 30th starting at 5:00 PM. The weekday date for assembly means that we could use the extra help, so whether you've done this fun activity before or not, we'd love to have you join us.

Bring gardening gloves, socket wrenches and screwdrivers and small ladders, or just bring yourself and help and share with others. Kids are welcome, and they'll enjoy the Friday night picnic even more if they helped with the building!

Erev Sukkot Activities
Picnic in the Sukkah for Grades K-2

Please join us for a picnic in the Sukkah, starting at 6:00 PM. Bring a picnic dinner for your family and a blanket to sit-on. Drinks provided. We will decorate the Sukkah and enjoy our picnic dinner in the Sukkah. NO RSVP REQUIRED.

How many Temple Isaiah Members does it take to decorate the Sukkah in 29 minutes? Everyone!

Join us on Friday, October 2, from 7:01 p.m. until the services begin at 7:30 to make our sukkah beautiful. We need members of all ages to join in. It’s a BYOD (Bring Your Own Decoration) event. Suggested items for decorations include gourds with stems, real and dried flowers, beads, banners on fabric, fall décor items. We will have plenty of supplies to hang the items.

Exploring the Two State Solution: New Perspectives on Creating a Lasting Peace in the Middle East
Monday, October 5, 7:30 pm

Professor Stephen Van Evera
Breakthroughs and Obstacles: Diplomacy and the Two State Solution

The first program of this special series of outstanding speakers will focus on diplomatic initiatives.

Stephen Van Evera’s groundbreaking work has provided new understanding of the causes of international conflict, challenging conventional wisdom in ways that may provide us with new insights into how peace in the Middle East can be achieved. Is the “two-state solution” feasible? Are some or all of the big pieces in place? What are the diplomatic obstacles?

Professor Van Evera is Ford International Professor in the MIT Political Science Department. Prof. Van Evera works in several areas of international relations: the causes and prevention of war, U.S. foreign policy, U.S. security policy, U.S. intervention in the Third World, international relations of the Middle East, and international relations theory. He has published books on the causes of war and on social science methodology, and articles on American foreign policy, American defense policy, nationalism and the causes of war, the origins of World War I, and U.S. strategy in the War on Terror.
