The sons and daughters of Holocaust survivors formed this group several years ago. Out of the discussions arose the need to memorialize the experiences in a permanent fashion in order to bear witness for all those who died and suffered.

Toward that end, we published We Shall Not Forget! Memories of the Holocaust, a collection of 42 essays written by Holocaust survivors and sons and daughters of Holocaust survivors, each telling a story of family survival or destruction. The hardcover book is over 500 pages long, includes over 200 photographs, and contains an index to names, places, and events mentioned in the essays. It is available in the temple library, at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, and can be purchased from the temple office.

When the book was written, it was with the hope that readers might learn from the true stories recounted, that the events of the Holocaust should not be forgotten or repeated. Since Deuteronomy commands us to remember, it seemed especially appropriate to write, "We Shall Not Forget!"
