Becky Derby has been doing research in the archive closet (located in the back of the library) to uncover documents pertaining to the 50-year history of Temple Isaiah. Here she is pictured with her daughter on a Sunday morning as they look over past sermons to include in our “Telling Our Story” display.
The project started when Becky began her search to find information about the time capsule buried sometime in the 1970s. If anyone has any knowledge or memory of the time capsule, we’d appreciate a call to help us locate it. Please email Shirley or Chuck Hurwitz at

Remember to Send Photos for “Telling Our Story” Display
We are looking for pictures of you and others at Temple Isaiah activities and events to create the “Telling Our Story” display for Temple Isaiah’s 50th birthday celebration. Please look through your albums and boxes of pictures and share with us the ones that help “tell our story.” Photographs can be 50 years old or one month old. ALL are part of our story.
Please include the name of each person in the photo, the date of picture, the location, and the event shown.
If possible, send your photos in a digital format. Don’t panic if you are not accustomed to doing this. If you take your pix to Kinko’s, they will set you up to store them on a CD which you can send to us. Kinko’s charges $6.00 to put up to 30 photos on a CD. Or you can do this at home. To convert photographs to digital images, scan pictures using a minimum of 300 dpi. The images may be stored on CDs and sent to us at Temple Isaiah, or emailed to Arthur Sharenow at 
. Please bring or send them to the Temple.
If you have photographs that you no longer want you can also send those to us, c/o Temple Isaiah, in their original form. Please note that we will not be able to return any photos.
LEFTY and Religious School Alumni Reunion
Attention: Parents of Adult Child
Do you have one or more children who attended school at Temple Isaiah or belonged to LEFTY in years past? (Maybe you’re even one of them!) As part of the 50th Anniversary celebration, the planning committee is organizing an event especially for alumni of the Temple’s Religious School and/or LEFTY. We want to get in touch with as many alumni as possible—whether newly graduated or further along in their adult lives.

Join us in putting together our 50th Anniversary Museum of Photos and Memorabilia. Be part of a team, sorting pictures and/or planning our photo displays, or entering them into our digital database. Rewarding work awaits! Not only will you help us tell Temple Isaiah’s 50 Year Story, but you can also have fun working with others, reminiscing, and getting a sneak preview of this exciting event.
